ORIGIN

CRAZY JAIN was created in the 90's in a musical kibbutz in Kingston, SW London. They mix the spirit, image, harmony and energy of music's greatest moments with 90's technology and production for the millennium. Their music is a fusion of various cultures expressed in a Western pop idiom, the songs reflecting the different environments the Band have evolved through.

JAIN comes from the ancient Sanskrit word meaning "to succeed or overcome", "To achieve a state of refinement through successive lifecycles". The core of CRAZY JAIN are:

LINEUP:         RALPH BAILEY - GUITAR AND VOCALS                      GERRY BAILEY - BASS AND VOCALS                      NICKY HAYDN - PERCUSSION AND VOCALS                      CHARLIE HOCKIN - DRUMS

REPERTOIRE:                   50'S TO 90'S

The Bailey brothers (the principal songwriters) have a very Eastern philosophy reflecting the Malaysian background of their mother and the Jewish/South American origins of their father. This was further diversified by an upbringing in Africa and Europe and provides a rich pool from which to draw. Betty's Italian background adds further colour and style.

  ABOUT THE GIGS

CRAZY JAIN also have an extensive repertoire of pop/rock covers, from the 50's through to the 90's. They have performed in all manner of venues, playing originals, covers or a mixture of both; in pubs and clubs, or at private parties, charity functions, Royal Air Force bases, festivals in London, the Home Counties and abroad - all with resounding success.

CRAZY JAIN play a very lively "get the crowd on their feet" type of set placing emphasis on movement, dynamics and entertainment, with an appeal to old and young alike, from 8 to 80 years of age. They have a full management team and a range of merchandise is available.

 ABOUT THE SONGS

CRAZY JAIN write about their observation of the world we live in; songs about people and their relationships between themselves and their environment (Everything Change, Bed of Nails, Hunter Killer); personal angst (One by One, Mother Sun, Too Late) and the different shades of love (Killing You, Will You Be Waiting, Summer Passions).
