Band Information

The Crewneck Ceilidh Band can field up to six players depending on the venue and 'fee'

We play a wide range of music from all over the British Isles but we use some European and American themes as well. Based on our individual roots we are mostly influenced by Northumbrian and Irish music, but with a very strong Scottish repertoire due to many enjoyable misspent hours just over the border in Scottish village dances.

The Crewneck Ceilidh Band is based in Staines, Middlesex but we will travel England and nearby Europe.

Our aim is to get people to enjoy themselves as much as possible and without humiliating anyone we intend to get the heart pumping and the sweat flowing.

The CORE members are:-
Joanne Smith, Fiddle, Whistle, and dance display person extraordinaire.
Brigid Connor, Guitar and Vocals.
Louis Barman, Flute, Whistle.
Frances Cleeve, Fiddle.
David Brown, Fiddle.
Jimmy Smith, Mandolin, backing vocals and Dance Caller.

each extra musician required add £ 80 UKP
Plus travel if over 50 miles @10p per mile return

Fiddle courses for the beginner and the more experienced

Varied residential holiday courses for the beginner and the more experienced, run throughout the year in beautiful rural Wales. Set in 600 acres, with a mile of private estuary shoreline teeming with wildfowl, this area provided the inspiration for some of Dylan Thomas' great works and will provide the backdrop to your hobby holiday. • All courses cost £245 pounds sterling and include free Transport to Carmaerthen Main Line station if required, All meals and Snacks, all tuition, and of course your bed.
  Each week is limited to a MAXIMUM of ten to enable the tutors to spend maximim value time with each person individually as well as in giving more meaningfull group workshops.
  Course materials are often provided in advance so that you can maximise the course time.
