Wraggle Taggle
is a professional and talented Ceilidh band with many years
experience specialising in traditional music at weddings, pubs
and clubs, festivals, parties and corporate functions.
A traditional Ceilidh is ideal for a wedding as it involves both
young and old and is a fun way to get the families and friends to
mix and meet.
We are flexible enough as regards personnel, instrumentation and
musical style to be able to tailor a band to your specific
requirements, and go out as anything from a duo to a six-piece,
amplified or acoustic, with or without a caller. All bands are
punctual, smart and sober, but still good fun!
They play Irish,
Scottish, English and American songs and tunes. They are both
sensitive to the occasion and responsive to the mood of the
audience.
If you wish we can concentrate on
one particular style all night e.g. Scottish or Irish. An example
of a duo would be myself on guitar/vocals together with our
fiddle player. Additional instruments can be added as required,
such as banjo, accordion or flute. Speciality instruments such as
Scottish or Irish bagpipes, bodhran (Irish drum) or traditional
dancers available by arrangement (subject to availability &
musical considerations).
Our most common format for a ceilidh consists of four musicians
plus a caller who will teach the dances from scratch - no
experience needed! It is important to leave sufficient space for
traditional dancing, as a rough guide 15 feet by 25 feet.
Prices are negotiable, but please dont forget WRAGGLE
TAGGLE includes some of the finest traditional musicians
in London and that agency fees are usually payable.
We are willing to travel up to 100 miles from our base in North
London - Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire,
Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Bedfordshire - but
would consider gigs further afield.
